I’m currently using the 3 sets Dawn fans and was hoping they would support lighting effects on both sides of the LEDs, but unfortunately, it seems only the Nyota Pros can do that.
At first, I had all my ARGB devices connected to the controller, which meant I had to control each device separately if I wanted different effects. Since I’m also running two Asiahorse Aurora PSU/GPU cables, this setup became a bit tedious.
The next day, I moved the Strimer cables over to the ASH-S1 ARGB Fan Hub. This made it much easier to use “Curtain Mode,” which has a lot of great lighting effects and is one of my favorite features so far.
However, a day or two later, my PC flagged the Umbra software as a possible virus and quarantined it. At that point, I was pretty frustrated and disappointed. Thankfully, everything seems to be working fine now, and the issue hasn’t come back.
I’m considering upgrading to the Dawn Pro fans, but I’d really like to have control over the center ARGB section (for example, being able to dim it), not just use preset “stop sign” effects. I haven’t been able to find any Umbra videos showing this clearly. I know the Lian Li SL fans can do it, so I’m hoping someone can confirm whether the Dawn Pro fans offer similar control.
Overall, after about a week of using the Umbra controller, I can say it’s the best fan/ARGB controller I’ve used so far. The software is solid overall—aside from the earlier virus scare—and if I end up getting compatible fans with better lighting control, I may even make a video about the Umbra controller.
